The main highlights ofBhutan Tourto Paro, Taktsang monastery, Thimpu and Punakha is Punakha Dzong. It has been inextricably linked with momentous occasions in Bhutanese history. It served as the capital of Bhutan from 1637 to 1907 and the first national assembly was hosted there in 1953. Punakha is the second oldest and second largest dzongs of Bhutan. It is one of the majestic structures in Bhutan. This tour begins and ends in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Day 01: Arrival in Paro and drive to Thimpu (2350m)
Early morning flight to Bhutan and on arrival at Paro airport, you will be received by our Bhutan tour guide. Then drive to Thimphu which takes about 1.5hrs, the lunch will be served in the Hotel and later drive pass by Memorial Chorten (temple) built in memory of the late 3rd King. And drive you to the newly built statue of Buddha offering magnificent view of entire Thimpu valley. Visit the enclosure where national animal, Takins are kept and could walk down to the hotel.
Day 02: Thimpu to Punakha(1350m, 2 ½ hours)
Morning drive to Punakha through Dochula pass (3200m). If the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan. Walk around the 108 stupas and continue to sub tropical valley of Punakha. On arrival, hike to the temple of Chimi Lakhang, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus.
Day 03: Punakha to Paro (2200m, 3 ½ hours)
Morning after checking out from the hotel, drive to visit Punakha Dzong (fortress) which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. This is a fine example of Bhutanese rich Art and Architecture. Drive back to Paro and after lunch visit Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge. Continue further to stroll around the old Paro town and sneak a look into some local handicrafts stores. Evening will drive back to the hotel.
Day 04: Paro Sightseeing Tour
Morning drive to the base for the hike to Tiger's Nest, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro valley. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria. As most of the day will be spend on hike. Drive back to the hotel and enjoy the facility.
Day 05: Paro Airport
Breakfast and transfer to Paro airport to get fly back to onward destination such Kathmandu.
