Gokyo Cho La  EBC Trek is to Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar via Cho La Pass. The trek provides a wonderful experience of Everest trek region. Gokyo Valley comprises of series of crystal-clear glacial lakes which draws the attention of trekkers from all around world. Moreover, the stunning view of the world's highest mountain Mt. Cho La Pass is the highest point of the trek. Gokyo Cho La EBC Trek route follows the Everest base camp trail up to Namche. You can trek either way trekking Gokyo lake first, then to Everest base camp crossing Cho La Pass, and also possible Everest base camp trek first, and then to Gokyo Lake by crossing Cho La. The trek route is easier with anti clockwise. Gokyo Ri and Kalapatthar are the best vantage view point to see Everest. You will have different experience while trekking on glacier between Gokyo and Thagnak, a challenging grade trek in Everest.

Spring months in March, April, May and Autumn months in September, October, November are the best time, trek around Gokyo Chola Everest Base Camp. In a clear weather allow trekkers to make the most out of their days in the most enchanting spot in the Earth, the Gokyo lakes. Besides, if you want to avoid the crowds in the peak seasons, a rather easy and calm trek around in December and June. Until mid March the lakes and Cho La pass remains frozen. It is more stunning during monsoon. The Cho la Pass is quite dangerous with chances of falling rock and landslides. It is easier to reach to the top of Cho La Pass from the east side. You can trek clockwise Gokyo to  Everest Base Camp trekcrossing Cho La Pass.

A tea house trek, you will stay in mountain guest house and eat there.The room accommodation are basic-neat and clean twin sharing as well as multi sharing with common toilet. Hot showers are available, but you have to pay extra cost. The Tea houses in Lukla and Namche Bazaar are of higher standard than the other places.

The challenging Gokyo Cho La EBC Trek, we mostly walk uphills and downhills trail in the high altitude. Regardless of age and fitness, preparation before trekking is essential. Aerobic activity, swimming, cycling recommends and helpful to join this trek. At the very least, walk up and down stairs in your trekking boots. 

Travel insurance is a must cover against personal accident, medical expenses, emergency evacuation and repatriation including helicopter evacuation and personal liability. We also recommend that it cover cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and persona effects.

EBC Gokyo Trek via Chola Pass Trek through an altitude of 2600m up to 5545m. At the height of 2,700m to 3,000m a cool temperature climate prevails, and at the altitude of 3,500 m to 4,100 m summer is cool and winter is  very cold. Above 4,100 m a cold, alpine climate prevails. Please expect cool summer and very cold in winter. Mountain weather is notoriously changeable. Your guide will make the final decision if severe and dangerous weather on the trekking. 

Clothing and equipment plays a vital roles to make an adventure trekking experience great. It is not a good idea to carry lots of unnecessary items, so make sure you bring only what you need as the trek is hard enough without an overload backpack. You can follow the list as a basic fundamental of equipment, and some of the equipment can hire and buy in Kathmandu before Gokyo Cho La EBC trek. We recommends to bring backpack, hiking boots, down jacket, rain and wind proof jacket, camp shoes, socks, trousers, pants ,thermal wear, shirts, t-shirts ,gloves, hat, sunglasses, sleeping bag, water bottle and, purifying tablets, trekking poles, gaiters for leg protection , micro-spikes means mini crampons , hand sanitizer, torch, toiletries, prescriptions and medical kit.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Phakding
Kathmandu to Lukla flight and trek to Phakding (2610m)
Day 02: Phakding to Namche (3440m)
Trek for 5/6 hours almost on uphill trail.
Day 03: Acclimatization day in Namche
Explore Khumjung and Everest View Hotel, Sherpa Museum and Hillary Memorial)
Day 04:  Namche to Tengboche (3860m)
Trek for 5/6 hours to Tengboche monastery, the largest and oldest monastery in Khumbu offer great view of Mt Everest and Ama Dablam.
Day 05: Tengboche to Dingboche (4400m)
Trek for 5/6 hour to Dingboche via Somare and Pangboche village.
Day 06: Acclimatization day in Dingboche
Explore Chukung or Hike up to Nagarjun Hill, which offer incredible view of Makalu, Island Peak and Mt. Ama Dablam.
Day 07: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m)
Trek for 5/6 hours uphill trek Lobuche via Dhugla.
Day 08: Lobuche to Gorakshep.
Lobuche to Gorakshep and same day Trip to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep (5140m)
Day 09: Kalapatthar to Dzongla.
Hike to Kalapatthar and trek to Dzongla (4380m)
Day 10: Dzongla to Thagnak via Chola Pass (4650m)
The longest and hardest day of trek to Cho La pass, it goes steep uphill and then steep downhill trek to Thangnak for 8/9 hours.
Day 11: Thagnak to Gokyo (4790m)
Trek for 4/5 hours to Gokyo Lake.
Day 12:  Gokyo to Dole.
Climb Gokyo RI and trek to Dole (4200m)
Day 13: Dole to Namche (3440m)
Trek on downhill trail for 6/7 hours to Namche bazaar.
Day 14: Namche to Phakding (2610m)
Trek for 5/6 hours to Phakding on the same trail we hiked up to Namche bazaar.
Day 15: Phakding to Lukla (2840m)
Breakfast and short trek to Lukla for 3/4 hours.
 Day 16: Lukla to Kathmandu flight (1300m)
Morning flight to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel, and spend free day in the afternoon

Trek Gear List: No need to bring unnecessary trekking equipment with you for trekking in Nepal. The following trekking equipment and gears are recommended before trekking in Nepal. Most of the trekking equipment what you will need can be rented or purchased  in Nepal either in Kathmandu or Pokhara at cheap price. We will help you with the necessary arrangements. Except your day pack all the luggage will be carried by porters. There is an allowance of 15kg per person. Additional personal items not needed for the trekking part of the trip can be stored in the storage room of hotel without extra cost.
