Everest Base Camp Trek 6 days is a luxury trip to EBC  who have limited trekking time. We first trek to Namche Bazaar and then helicopter ride to Everest Base Camp.

Detail Itinerary of Everest Base Camp 6 days

01

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu(1300m)

Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, receive you there and transfer to hotel. Free day walking around local market, trip briefing and stay night at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Phadking(2600m, 10km, 4 hours) via Lukla(2800m)

Breakfast, take morning flight to Lukla and trek for 4 hours on an easy trail to Phadking and stay night at guest house in Phakding.

Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar(3500m, 18km, 6-7 hour)

Breakast and trek for 6 to 7 hours on an uphill trail to Namche bazaar, the gateway town of Everest base camp. Walk around Namche bazaar and stay night at hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Day 04: Acclimatize day in Namche Bazaar.

Breakfast and acclimatize day hiking to Everest view hotel, the best view point to see Mount Everest, Amadablam and other himalayan peaks, stop for tea and coffee and trek back to Namche bazaar via Khumjung village and Hillary school. Stay night at guest house in Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Helicopter trek to Everest base camp, and back to Lukla.

Breakfast and heli trek tour to Everest base camp flying over Khumbu valley via Tengboche Monastery and Pheriche, Khumbu Icefall and Everest base camp, landing for short time for 10 to 15 minutes at Kalapathar to see the best view of Mount Mount Everest, and fly back to Lukla. stay night at guest house in Lukla.

Day 06: Lukla to Kathmandu(1300m)

Breakfast and get flight back to Kathmandu. Please note it that also,on Autumn and Spring like September to November and March to May, the flight to Lukla is operating from Ramechhap. So we have to drive 4 to 5 hours to get flight to Lukla and also drive for 4 to 5 hours back to Kathmandu after Lukla to Ramechhap flight. Stay night at hotel in Kathmandu.

Breakfast and free day on your own buying souvenirs for your family, friends and relatives.

Trip Information - Everest Base Camp 6 days

EBC Trek Difficulty

A moderately difficulty trek, reaching to an elevation of 5500m. It needs to walk 5 to 7 hours as you walk up to Everest Base Camp. The trails ascends and descends frequently through valley and high altitude mountain passes.

No previous trek experience is required but you should be physically fit and healthy. Hiking experience is beneficial. Walking, running, and hiking is a great ways to prepare for this trip.

Moreover, 8-day Everest Base Camp Trek is doable if you are ready to walk five to six hour daily. It is an average hike and does not require any technical climbing.

Foods on Everest Base Camp Trek

You will get Nepali, Tibetan, Indian, Chinese and continental meals. You will get oatmeal, French toast, muesli, cereal, hash browns, chapati,Tibetan bread and egg of any style.

Dal Bhat is a good dish for trekking, it forms of lentil soup served with rice and seasonal vegetable. Western-style meals also possible such as sandwiches, potatoes, and even pizza for lunch and dinner.

The Thukpa, stews, pizza, and momos(dumpling) are also possible. For dessert, you will get rice pudding, apple pie, pastries and snickers bar.

The meat-based, non-veg dishes are also available. The meat is not freezing and fresh, carried by porters from Lukla. The non-veg meals upset your stomach. Alcohol and meat are not recommended on this trek.

Accommodations on Everest Trek

You will stay at local teahouse lodges. It offers delicious meal and comfortable accommodations. The teahouses have two or three beds in a room with warm blankets, pillows, and firm mattresses.

We try to provide you the highest quality room with attached bathrooms. Group Trekkers share a room with same sex for solo female travelers.

Passport and Visa

You need to carry passport valid for at least 6 months. You will get on arrival visa at Kathmandu-TIA airport. The multiple entry-Nepal visa costs USD 40 for 15 days and USD 50 for 30 days.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is necessary for this trek. We will not sell travel insurance but happily recommends the insurance company. Please, make sure that your travel insurance policy will cover emergency helicopter rescue and evacuation and medical expenses in the hospital. Hence, purchase a higher tier of travel insurance which covers a high altitude sickness up to 6,000 meters.

Best Time for Short Everest Base Camp Trek

March, April, and May are the best months for short Everest Base Camp Trek. The hiking trail is blooming rhododendrons in Autumn. Also, the lush alpine landscape seems spectacular.

The winter snow makes the surrounding mountains alluring. Ama Dablam, Everest, Thamserku, and other peaks are clearly seen in Spring.

Post-monsoon months like September, October, and November are also good for the trek. The rain-free days and crystal clear weather in the autumn days make it a pleasant journey.

Flight Delays and Transportation

For this trek, you’ll take a flight to Lukla ( March to May and October and November from Ramechhap and the rest of the month from Kathmandu) trek to EBC, and then return by helicopter from Gorakshep to Kathmandu via Lukla airport stop.

The crucial weather affects the flight to Lukla. If you’re in Spring and Autumn, you may face flight delayed and cancel. Hence, we request you to plan your trip with one or two extra buffer days to comfort your international flight delays and cancellations.
