Chepang village trek is a newly explored trekking route in Nepal. The Chepang Hill Trek is in between Trisuli  River and Chitwan National Park. The Chepang Heritage Trail can combine with Trisuli rafting and Chitwan National Park tour. Siraichuli, the grandest view point of culturally rich Chepang Hill trek offers the supper view of both Terai and Himalayas of Manaslu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Langtang and Ganesh Himal.

Chepang Village Trek offers a rare combination of cultural and sightseeing experience of Chepang communities. Chepang is one of the more backward ethnic communities of Nepal. Chepang is believed to have been influenced by Tamang, speak their own distinct language, lead a nomadic life and their own primary lifestyle, hunt for wild roots and fish and conduct traditional farming near jungles. The Chepang overstay trekking comprises opportunities to explore and observe a lifestyle of other ethnic communities like Tharu, Musahar, Satahar, Danuwar,Tamang, Kumal, Gurung and Magar. Chepang Village trekking begins form Hungdi and ends in Shaktikhor. Shaktikhor is in Chitwan national park home to rhinos, elephant, tiger and other animals.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m)
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, we will meet you at Kathmandu Airport and escort you to your hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your daily activities during the tour.
Day 02: Kathmandu Tour
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. In the morning, after breakfast, you will visit renowned and one of the largest Buddhist monastery - Swoyambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After lunch, you will visit Patan Durbar Square. All these are protected by UNESCO as world heritage site. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu -Hungdi and Trek to Hattibang(1700m)
Today you will be driven to Hugdi Khola that will take around three hours. On the way to Hugdi Khola, you can see spectacular views of great Himalaya peaks, green hills, rivers, and traditional Nepalese villages. Upon reaching Hugdi Khola, you will walk for around 4 -5 hours to reach another beautiful village of Hattibang. You will be accommodated in a local house or community managed home.
Day 04: Trek to Jyanjala (1850m)
From Hattibang, the trail starts to Jyanjala penetrating other Chepang settlements such as Jautesh, Changa and Dinglang. You will observe the Chepang communities and their cultures in all these areas. In addition, you can also see the western Himalaya ranges from these places and the greenery of Chitwan National Park.
Day 05: Trek to Uppergadi via Siraichuli and Chisapanitar (2000m)
Today your trek will start from Jyandala and will end at Upendragadi. Siraichuli is one of the hot spots to view sunrise and sunset. Chisapanitar is another beautiful village where you can explore and observe culture and traditions of the Chepang communities. The nature and the spectacular views make it an ideal place to stay overnight with local communities.
Day 06: Trek to Shaktikhor(355m)
Today you will descend towards Shaktikhor via Gadi. Shaktikhor is another Chepang village and the center for the sustainable tourism initiative of Chepang people. There is a Chepang Museum and the Visitor Information Centre. The caves and the waterfalls around the village invite you for a stroll in the area. In the evening, the local people perform their live cultural programs on request.
Day 07: Shaktikhor to National National Park.
This is the final day of trek and will end in another famous tourist destination of Nepal - Sauraha. You can go for a jungle safari at Chitwan National Park where you might see Royal Bengal Tigers, one horned rhino, bear, dear, wild boar, crocodile etc. Besides, you can enjoy the Tharu stick dance performed by local people.
Day 08: Chitwan Wildlife Tour
Fullday Chitwan jungle tours- elephant back safari, canoeing, jungle walking, elephant bathing, and elephat bathing.
Day 09: Chitwan to Kathmandu.
After visiting the Chitwan National Park and the Chepang villages, you will return to Kathmandu via private vehicle that will take approximately six hours.
Day 10: In Kathmandu.
The entire day is available for leisurely and personal activities like shopping at different super market & departmental stores, etc. You can also explore the tourist hub "Thamel". In addition, you can also go for shopping, body massaging and spa treatments or sightseeing. Overnight in hotel.
Day 11: Kathmandu Airport
Final transfer to Kathmandu airport for your flight towards onward destinations. If you want to continue your stay in Nepal for short tours like rafting, mountain biking and hiking, please do let us know. We will be proudly serving your needs.

We would recommend to pack pretty light and managed to wash most of your clothes each afternoon/night for the first half of the trip. In the latter stages of the trip, it is pretty cold. There is no real need for multiple outfits.This is just a guide and it work quite well. sleeping bag is necessary as there are blankets in each guesthouse.

Travel Insurance 
Travel insurance is compulsory for Chepang Heritage Trail. Though this is an easy trek with low risk of AMS. However, this mountain journey is not a normal visit due to the possibility of unforeseen or unexpected events such as injury, illness, flood, landslide and sudden climate changes. All trekkers must provide a copy of their comprehensive travel insurance policy certificate. The policy must cover medical and emergency repatriation - including helicopter rescue and evacuation expenses at high altitudes. We kindly request you to send your detailed insurance policy copy before trekking departures. In case of emergencies, we will use the documents you sent us for rescue. It will help us arrange a quick and effective rescue operation, transfer for emergency medical help, etc. Please make sure with the insurance company that they cover helicopter evacuation at high altitude trek along with medical costs. 

Passport and Visa
All foreigners except Indian nationals need a visa to enter Nepal. You can get an on-arrival visa at Tribhuvan International Airport or Nepal border regional offices. For a visa application, you need a passport valid for at least six months, a passport size photo, and visa application fees.The current visa cost for 30 days is US$50 which you have to pay in USD cash. Children under the age of 10 will get a free visa. Chinese citizens and citizens of SAARC countries:Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka get a free visa.The citizen of Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan will not get visa on arrival in Nepal.

Tipping in Nepal
Nepali culture accepts tipping and views it as proof of good service. However, tipping is at the traveler’s discretion and should reflect the quality of service provided.We advise you to tip at the end of the trek.

Money Matter
Nepali Rupees (NPR/Rs) is the local currency and 1 USD =Rs 120 NPR.You can exchange most foreign currencies in banks and other financial institutions or money exchanges in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Money exchanges display exchange rates visibly for the public.

Please note that only Indian Rupee Notes (INR) of 100 and 2000 denominations are legal in Nepal. We recommend you to bring cash and exchange them for Nepali Rupees at money exchanges instead of traveler's Cheque are not accepted now in Nepal.You can also withdraw cash in Nepalese Rupees using your credit/debit card from ATMs in Kathmandu or Pokhara. You can withdraw up to Rs. 35,000 for a fee of Rs 500. Most banks in Asia do not accept old, torn and faded foreign currency notes so bring clean new notes.

Expenses of Personal Nature
Our package does not include meals and accommodation costs in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Moreover, all our valuable clients need to bring personal spending money to cover visa fee, travel insurance policy purchase, beverages, snacks for the trek, hot (tea/coffee) and cold drinks, tips to guide and porter, souvenirs and so on. We recommend you to bring cash in major currencies which you can easily exchange for rupees in Nepal. Poon Hill Trek accept only Nepalese currency.

Water and Electricity
Electricity is available for camera and mobile battery recharge at an extra cost. You can buy either packed mineral water from local lodges and en route shop or fill your water bottle with boiled water at an extra cost. If you require, we can provide you with water purification pills. You shouldn't drink water from rivers, taps and wells in trek as the water might not be drinkable.

Solo Travelers-Single travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. Some of our Independent trips are designed differently and single travellers on these itineraries must pay the single trip price.

Minimum Age-You must be 18 to travel unaccompanied on a our tour. For minors travelling with a guardian over 21 years old, the minimum age is 12.
