Langtang Trek Difficulty
Langtang Valley Trek is an easy trek that leads you to 3830 m a maximum height at Kyanjin Gomba. The Langtang trek is not a difficult grade trek. The Langtang Valley Trek is much shorter than Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit Trek. You will reach an altitude of 5000 m, which will challenge many. Altitude sickness can be common. The route ascends quite quickly with several days having more than 1000 m of altitude gain. These days of ascent are tiring and also require the body to adjust quickly. This is a good beginner trek in Nepal but please donโt take it lightly.
Langtang Valley Trek Package

Seasons for Langtang Valley Trek
9 days Langtang valley trek is possible throughout the year. I would mostly recommend in Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Since the weather is generally stable, temperature is mild with clear skies. The trail covers by beautiful blooming flowers and lush vegetation.
Autumn is the first great season as the weather is generally dry, and the skies are clear, providing excellent visibility of mountain vistas. The temperatures are moderate, making it comfortable for trekking. Autumn is a peak trekking season in Nepal, so there will be more fellow trekkers on the trail.
Hotels in Langtang Trek
The hotel accommodations in Langtang trek is very basic and budget. The most common type of accommodations, we call it teahouses along the trail you will find. The budget guest houses offer basic facilities such as bed, blanket and common dining area. All the teahouses may have sharing bathrooms, while others may have attached bathrooms. The amenities is vary from one teahouse to another. In Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa cater relatively more comfortable teahouses with better facilities.
Langtang Valley Trek-Meals
Most of the teahouses offer Dal Bhat consisting of lentil soup (dal), rice (bhat), vegetables, pickles. In addition Dal Bhat, you will get momos (steamed or fried dumplings filled with vegetables or meat), Thukpa (noodles soup), Ghandruk (fermented leafy greens), fried rice, chapati (flat bread), curry and different egg items.
Wi-Fi, electricity and hot shower
The Wi-Fi, electricity and hot water for shower are available in the trek paying an additional cost. The quality and reliability of the internet connection is not much good. Electricity is also limited because it is generated through solar panels. Charging electronic devices like cameras, phones or batteries may pay an additional fees. Hot shower facilities are available in most of the tea houses.
Wifi:
Costs anywhere from $2 to $4 to use wifi at the guesthouses. Buy an NTC Sim before you go trek in Langtang. It works in most spots after Lama Hotel with a weak signal but we were able to send emails, watch YouTube, and message friends from Langtang and Kyanjin Gompa.
Electricity:
You will have to pay anywhere from $ 2 at low elevation to $5 to charge your power banks, cameras, and phones. The key is to get a big power bank. Pay to charge it then charge everything from your power bank. Your power bank lets you charge your phone and camera batteries before it dies. Most of the places you stayed let you charge your gear for free but when it is busy they usually charge a fee as many tea houses run off gas or solar.
Permits for Langtang Base Camp Trek
The two permits TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) card and Langtang National Park entry permit are required to trek to Langtang valley. That costs USD 50.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance is highly recommended for 9 days Langtang Valley trek. It covers emergency helicopter rescue(evacuation) and other medication expenses in case of emergency.
Tips
Tipping is a common practice for guides, porters and driver. Even Though, it is not mandatory, but considered a way to show gratitude for their services. The tipping amount is based on your satisfaction with their service and your budget. I would normally recommend to tip 15 to 20 percent of you trip price.
Money Matter
It is nice to bring-USD 200 to 300 equivalent Nepali rupees cash with you. That you can spend to pay hot shower, charging batteries and expenses of personal nature like drinks, wifi, internet and tips.
The US dollars, Pounds, Australian Dollars, Singaporean Dollars, Malaysian Ringgit, and Euros, you can change easily in the money exchange counter in Kathmandu. It is also possible to cash out in NPR(Nepalese rupees) from ATM machine paying an charge of 500 to 600 for 35000 rupees in a time.
