Rara Lake Trek is an unexplored trekking trail of Nepal. Rara National Park Trek begins from Jumla and trek through timberland of blended oak, conifer, pine, expansive leafed chestnut, white birch and rhododendron. Rara Lake Trek gives a chance to have a closer look up at their authentic culture and traditions remains pretty much the same for a long time. When you see them busy with daily chores, you cannot help but wonder at their simple life that puts so much peace and smile on their faces despite the harsh terrain. Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
On arrival at Kathmandu airport, we receive you at Kathmandu airport and drive to hotel.Free day on your own and tour briefing in the afternoon.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Nepalgunj(165m)
Today, we take a short flight along the south side of the Nepal Himalaya, with great views of the Annapurna in particular. Arriving in Nepalgunj, a town in the 'Terrai' on the border with India, we check in at the group hotel.
Day 03: Nepalgunj to CharyaChaur (3010m) via Jumla.
We have an early morning flight to Jumla (2370m) in the foothills of the remote Sisne Himalaya. On arrival, we meet our trek crew and porters and walk for approximately 3 - 4 hours to Charya Chaur (3010m) where we set up our first camp.
Day 04: Trek to Kharka (3700m, 5/6 hours)
From Charya-Chaur we climb the forested slopes of the Jaljala Lek on a good trail to the grassy ridge crest at approximately 3700 metres. Descending the other side of the ridge through more forest we make our camp in a kharka (grazing area) at approximatly 2800 metres.
Day 05: Trek to Botan (2680m, 6/7 hours)
We continue the descent from the jaljala Lekh, following the fall of the Syaule Khola to a junction with the Sinja Khola (2490m). Here we turn east and following the river upstream, ascend to the village of Botan (2680m).
Day 06: Trek to Ghorasain(3190m, 3/4 hours)

We climb beside the Ghatte Khola to the boundary of the Rara National Park where there is a check post at Ghorasain (3190m). We make camp here close to the checkpost.
Day 07: Trek to Rara Lake (2980m, 6/7 hours)
From Gorosingha the trail climbs to a saddle above the Ghatta Khola and then traverses the Chuchuemara Danda westwards to reach an alpine-like ridge. We descend through forests of rhododendron, then birch and finally oak, amid spectacular scenery to reach the shores of Rara Lake (2980m). We now follow a shoreline trail taking us to the north side of the lake and our camp.
Day 08: In Rara Lake.
A day to explore the lake and its environs. The wildlife here protected by the park include bears, cats, wolves and deer. Overnight camp at the lake.
Day 09: Trek to Jhyari (2630m)
After retracing our steps to the southern shore, we begin our trek out by a different route, climbing to a meadow at 3050 metres and descending via the village of Jhyari (2630m) to a riverside camp at 2580 metres.
Day 10: Trek to Chauta (2770m, 5/6 hours)
We climb up to the Ghurchi Lagna Pass (3460m) bedecked with chortens and prayer flags, then descend to the park boundary at Bulbule. Beyond here the trail enters a narrow wooded valley before reaching Chauta (2770m).
Day 11: Trek to Tharamara (3280m, 5/6 hours)
Crossing the Chauri Khola the trail climbs to the village of Bhara (2920m) and then descends through Kabra to Nyawre (2660m) on the Sinja Khola. The day ends with a climb through forests of bamboo, walnut, birches and fir to the tiny hamlet of Tharamara (3280m).
Day 12: Trek to Jumla (2370m, 5/6 hours)
Following the stream, we ascend through forests of rhododendron, birch and spruce to the Danphe Lagna pass (3720m). From the pass we descend through meadows and more forest to Jumla (2370m).
Day 13: Jumla to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.
We take the early morning flight from Jumla to Nepalgunj, where we connect with our onward flight to Kathmandu. Arriving in the city we check into our hotel and this evening we enjoy dinner in one of the excellent restaurants in Thamel.
Day 14: In Kathmandu
This is a contingency day in case of delays to our flight from Jumla. There is an optional complimentary half-day guided sightseeing tour of the city. This evening we have a farewell dinner.
Day 15: Kathmandu airport
Final transfer to Kathmandu airport to get your flight back to home.

Rara Lake trek cost
Rara Lake Trek Prices range from $2,000 to $3,000 per person, depending on length and the quality of services. The price will go down with more trekkers.

Rara Lake Trek Permit
A Rara National Park permit costs $30 and can be purchased from the immigration office in Kathmandu. Please note that you must trek with a registered guide and that a trekking party must consist of at least two people.

Best time to trek Rara Lake
The best time to undertake the Rara Lake trek is from September and October and April and May. There is little rainfall in summer, making this perfect for trekking, while in winter snow can be heavy, unrelenting and block many passes.

Rara Lake Trek Difficulty
The Rara Lake trek is considered moderate to easy. It is an ideal trek for beginners as the altitude and length is not extreme.

Rara Trek Accommodation
We provide you standard hotel accommodation with breakfast in Kathmandu. During your Rolwaling Trek, we provide you with the tented camp accommodation. If you want to change the accommodation plan, please do let us know so that we can arrange and book the hotel for you as per your request.

Meals on Jumla Rara Lake Trek
All the food and Beverages included on the package of Rolwaling Trek. The foods are professionally prepared and provided in the tented camp on the trail. We will have the breakfast and dinner at the camp. On the everyday trek, our guide will decide the available place and stop for the lunch. We also provide the boiled drinking water at the camp. During the trek, there are options for buying the bottled water as well.

Transportation
We provide all the necessary transportation facilities for your trip. We provide private vehicles for airport pick up and sightseeing tour around Kathmandu. Likewise, we provide bus transportation for your trip. However, you have the other options as travelling through private vehicles such as cars or van. You need to pay additional for the transportation which is excluded from our package. You can send us an inquiry for the latest price details for the private transportation and flight tickets.

Luggage and Backpack
The main luggage of your will be carried by your porters during the trek. For your personal things, we highly recommend you to carry on a small daypack containing water bottles, cameras, sunscreen and other things which you require daily during the trip. Making the backpack small and lighter will unquestionably assist you to enjoy the trip to its fullest. You should simply convey the thing which is basic for your outing and the rest of the garments and different things can be left in the locker room/safe store of hotels. The hotels provide the locker room / safe deposit for free. So, don’t hesitate to leave the things which are not necessary. While making the backpack or luggage for your trip to ensure that the luggage doesn’t exceed more than 15 Kg. Weight allowance at Nepal’s domestic airlines is 15 Kg including your handbag. Excess weight is chargeable of USD 1.5 or more which will be the additional cost of our trip.

Guide and Porters on Trek
We provide you with the well trained and experienced guide and porter for your trek. Our guide will assist you in every possible way to make your trips remarkable and memorable. Talking about the porter, we provide one porter for 2 trekkers each. The porters carry 20 Kg of total luggage (10 Kg form each trekker). We provide the one guide for the smaller groups and if the group size surpasses 10 individuals; we will provide the additional guide for your trip.

Personnel Expenses
Personnel Expenses largely influenced upon your habit of expenditure. We provide you with all the necessary food and accommodation facilities for Rara Lake Trek. So, you only need money to pay for your drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages) and snacks while strolling on the trail. You will get the significant number of smaller shops on the trail to buy the drinks and snacks. Likewise, you can also use the money to buy souvenirs of the trip, entrance tickets, hot showers, tips and many more. Note that, tips and gratuities are not mandatory, but it is fine if you wish to. If you feel like the service provided to you is excellent, then you can tip directly to staffs. Of course, there is no obligation to tip if you are disappointed with the service you receive. As a suggestion, we advise you to allocate an amount of 10% - 15% of the total package price for tips. The amount you give depends on your budget and appreciation of their work.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is necessary for this trek. But in some cases, the thrilling experience comes up with the serious hazard. The most exciting, and the joyful trip may backfire on us and we may have to be the victim of nature. Not only that while trekking in the high altitude rough terrains may also occur afflictions like the sprained ankle or even broken leg, appendix ruptures, hypothermia, skin infection and respiratory infection. If any of this misfortune happens to you, then it should be treated on time. If left untreated then you may even lose your life. If any of the above-mentioned affliction happens during your trip, we will do everything to transfer you to the nearest hospital ASAP. All the expenses made to rescue and evacuate you, are entirely liable to us. So, before departing off to your trip, make sure that your travel insurance company has the policy to cover up all the expenses in case of any misfortune arises during the trip so that you can enjoy the trip to the utmost. If not, be ready to pay on your own once you arrive at the Kathmandu.

Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to make your trip, let us know in advance. We will refund you as per our booking terms and conditions and available time frame. At times, there might be delays or cancellation of flights due to weather and unforeseeable reasons. In such cases, we will make our best effort to adjust your bookings and rearranging the schedule.
