Rolwaling Trek is one of the most difficult trek to Rolwaling Valley and Tashi Lapcha at 5750 m. This is the toughest trekking pass with rockfall and steep exposed trails and crevasses. For Rolwaling Trek, you must have a good level of physical fitness. Crampons and climbing rope is necessary for Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass Trek.

The Rolwaling Valley and Tashi Lapcha Pass Trek is famous for Tso Rolpa Glacier Lake at 4540 m. The trek starts from Dolakha a small town near Charikot, and eight hours drive from Kathmandu. Trekking in Rolwaling initially goes through lower valleys flanked by terraced fields, farm houses and forested slopes. The higher valleys of Rolwaling are inhabited by Sherpa people who cultivate maize, barley, potatoes and graze their yaks herds in the higher valleys below the snow capped peaks. Above the villages of Beding and Na, the trek route goes to the glaciated valleys where glacial lakes like Tso Rolpa. After the ascent of Ramdung, you can cross Tesi Lapcha pass at 5,750 m to Namche Bazaar. From Namche, you can trek a side trip to Everest Base Camp and trek directly to Lukla and catch a flight back to Kathmandu.The Rolwaling Valley is very steep and covered in thick forest, therefore the climbs are sheer upright.

The Rolwaling Valley is home to famous peaks such as Mount Gauri Shankar (7134 m), Dorje Lakpa, and many others. This is a wild and barely explored Trek. Technical mountaineering skills and equipment are required for trekking around Rolwaling. Trekkers will also be enjoying beauty of Tsho-Rolpa, the largest Glacier Lake in Nepal and can continue to the Khumbu region which links to trek routes in the Everest region. You will be rewarded with the enchanting view of the majestic mountain Gauri Shanker with a lots of Tibetan influences, you will get a truly unique trekking experience. 

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m)
Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport (KTM) you will be greeted by our representative. You will be then transferred to hotel . After check in, you can either take a rest, hang around in the city, visit our office; it all depends upon your interests and condition.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour.
We start a guided tour to four of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, the Buddhist shrines of Boudhanath and Swayambhu. The day will also be for finalizing official procedure and other necessary arrangements. You will be also briefed on the nature of expedition, equipments and team composition. You can also make your last minute buying of personal items as you will be heading to the Himalayas tomorrow.
Day 03: Kathmandu (1350m) to Shigati (950m) via Dolakha and trek to Suri Dobhan
From Kathmandu, we head northeast on the Friendship Highway which connects Kathmandu with Lhasa. A Lamosangu, we leave the Friendship Highway and take another way to Jiri. Earlier the motor-able road used to be only upto Dolakha. But nowadays because of the Tamakoshi hydro power construction works, we can drive upto Shigati. From Shigati we trek to Suri Dobhan for our overnight stay.
Day 04: Suri Dobhan to Jagat (1440m, 5/6 hrs) trekking.
Trek along the river, and then continue on the flat land. We cross several streams and jungles with varieties of orchid, rhododendron and other vegetation. Cross the suspension bridge to reach Jagat, a small town with people of different ethnicities.
Day 05: Jagat to Simigaun (1,990m, 5 hrs) trekking
At first, we follow the normal flat path, then & the trail ascends and descends through the jungle. The trail follows the river bank. As the valley narrows, we cross the suspension bridge over the river. A steep climb takes us to the Sherpa village of Simigaon, spread on the terrace of the mountainside. The village is mostly inhabited by Buddhists and there are also a few Hindus.
Day 06: Simigaun to Kharka (2,900m, 6 hrs) trekking.
We pass by a few more Sherpa settlements. On a clear morning the views of Gaurishankar above the Rolwaling Valley is fascinating. From the ridge top at Simigaun , we continue towards the Rolwaling Valley. The trail climbs a rocky, wooded ridge with beautiful pine forests. Descent again to the river of Rolwaling Khola.
Day 07: Kharka to Beding (3,690m, 4 hrs) trekking
Our trail ascends uphill through different varieties of plants and Rhododendron trees. Continue along & left bank of the Rolwaling Khola. Continuing along the deep river valley, we arrive at a tributary river from Gaurishankar. Enjoy the unfolding views of the Gaurishankar. The trail rises further until we come across an easy and relatively flat terrain. Finally, we arrive at the Sherpa village of Beding located by the river.
Day 08: Beding to Na (4,180m,5 hrs) trekking
An easy walk along the norther bank of the Rolwaling River begins our today trek. We pass across the summer village of Beding, several yaks grazing and people busy in their fields of buckwheat and barley. The Cristine formed by the 6000ers such as Chekigo, Bamango, and Konyklemo rise on the immediate left of the village. We arrive at a monastery believed to be a meditative place of the Buddhist Guru Padma Sambhava. Walking along the valley floor, we finally reach the summer village of Na surrounded by potato fields.
Day 09: Na to Tso Rolpa Lake (4,588m,7 hrs) trekking
At first trek through the leveled plane and gradually ascend to witness the Himalayan Lake filled with the chilling water of the glaciers. The views of Menlung and Tibetan Side Mountains add glory to the unfolding vista. We trek along the right bank of the river and then cross the river to climb up the rocky lateral moraine of the Glacier.  We then walk to Tso Rolpa for the night.
Day 10: Tso Rolpa to Trakarding Glacier (4800m, 4 hrs) trekking
Early morning trek to head toward Trakarding glacier. Walk past the glaciers throughout the day and explore the beauty of the surrounding. The trail will still be ascending through some rock climbing and a gradual walk on the glacier moraine, occasionally passing rocks overhangs.
Day 11: Trek to Tashi Lapcha Base Camp (5,010m, 5 hrs)
The walk follows high slopes above the glacier to avoid the lower section, but further up we have to trek along the centre on the hard rocky glacier. Steady walk leads us to the lowest point of the ice fall and then climbing to the easiest point to gain the Drolambau glacier. Here we will be surrounded by superb high mountain scenery.  Continuing further downhill, we camp at Tashi Lapcha Pedi Camp at the foot of Tashi Lapcha, surrounded by absolutely grandiose mountains over 6000m with 360 degree panorama.
Day 12: Cross Tashi Lapcha Pass (5,755m, 5 hrs)
Continue trekking to Trashi Lapcha Pass (5755m). From the pass, the view of senior Khumbu peaks is magnificent. Some hundred meter downhill trek under overhanging rock, we camp at a superb location, with magnificent sunset views.
Day 13: Climb Pachermo (6272 m) peak and trek to Thengpo (4370 m)
We climb again to the neck of Trashi Lapcha and from there we start the ascent of Pachermo. The snow slopes lead us to the final ridge, sometimes requiring fixed ropes. From the Pachermo summit, enjoy the fantastic views of the Khumbu peaks including Everest, Makalu among others.  Descend to Col then to Thengpo. The Pachermo ascent takes about 5 to 6 hrs and then another 3 to 4 hrs descend takes us to Thengpo.
Day 14: Reserve Day
There is no such guarantee that we can get quite a favorable weather especially on our planned day for the Parchemo summit, so this day is used as a contingency. If weather became exceptionally unfavorable we wisely have to postpone the program of smiting the peak. Sometimes somebody in the group may get some problems in acclimatizing well enough; then the day can be used in that condition too.
Day 15: Trek to Thame (3,820m, 5 hrs)
Today you will be experiencing a bit easy walking, the walk from here will be enjoyable most of the way to Thame. A gradual descend brings us to Thame Village, the first hint of civilization since Beding. There is a very old and interesting Monastery at the upper end of the village. Now you have a glimpse of first really good views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru.
Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m, 5 hrs)
At Thame, the old trade route over the Nangpa-la into Tibet branches North, following the Bhote Koshi, which incidentally is the 2-3 river so named on this trek. The trail descends gently at first and then steeply to a bridge over the river Dudh Koshi at Phunki Tenga. Passing by several villages and numerous teashops, the trail ascends steeply to Sanasa where local Sherpa people sell the Tibetan goods. The way from Sanasa to Namche has small ups and downs with view of forests, scenery and mountains.
Day 17: Trek Namche to Lukla (2,840m, 5/6 hours)
Breakfast and trek downhill first and then following the Dudhkoshi river on a gently ups and downs trail to Lukla, passing the villages like Monjo, Jorsalle, Phakding.
Day 18: Lukla - Kathmandu.
Take morning flight to Kathmandu and free day on your own for shopping at Thamel market. Join our farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 19: Kathmandu Airport
Final transfer to Kathmandu airport to get your flight back home.

Note: If scheduled flight gets cancelled due to bad weather from Lukla to Kathmandu on return. In such situation, we need to send chartered helicopter which costs US $ 500 per person. Helicopter cost has to be borne by the clients to get outbound flight on scheduled time.

We provide you standard hotel accommodation with breakfast in Kathmandu. During your Rolwaling Trek, we provide you with the tented camp accommodation. If you want to change the accommodation plan, please do let us know so that we can arrange and book the hotel for you as per your request.

Meals on Rolwaling Trek
All the food and Beverages included on the package of Rolwaling Trek. The foods are professionally prepared and provided in the tented camp on the trail. We will have the breakfast and dinner at the camp. On the everyday trek, our guide will decide the available place and stop for the lunch. We also provide the boiled drinking water at the camp. During the trek, there are options for buying the bottled water as well.

Transportation
We provide all the necessary transportation facilities for your trip. We provide private vehicles for airport pick up and sightseeing tour around Kathmandu. Likewise, we provide bus transportation for your trip. However, you have the other options as travelling through private vehicles such as cars or van. You need to pay additional for the transportation which is excluded from our package. You can send us an inquiry for the latest price details for the private transportation and flight tickets.

Luggage and Backpack
The main luggage of your will be carried by your porters during the trek. For your personal things, we highly recommend you to carry on a small daypack containing water bottles, cameras, sunscreen and other things which you require daily during the trip. Making the backpack small and lighter will unquestionably assist you to enjoy the trip to its fullest. You should simply convey the thing which is basic for your outing and the rest of the garments and different things can be left in the locker room/safe store of hotels. The hotels provide the locker room / safe deposit for free. So, don’t hesitate to leave the things which are not necessary. While making the backpack or luggage for your trip to ensure that the luggage doesn’t exceed more than 15 Kg. Weight allowance at Nepal’s domestic airlines is 15 Kg including your handbag. Excess weight is chargeable of USD 1.5 or more which will be the additional cost of our trip.

Guide and Porters on Trek
We provide you with the well trained and experienced guide and porter for your trek. Our guide will assist you in every possible way to make your trips remarkable and memorable. Talking about the porter, we provide one porter for 2 trekkers each. The porters carry 20 Kg of total luggage (10 Kg form each trekker). We provide the one guide for the smaller groups and if the group size surpasses 10 individuals; we will provide the additional guide for your trip.

Personnel Expenses:
Personnel Expenses largely influenced upon your habit of expenditure. We provide you with all the necessary food and accommodation facilities for Rolwaling Trek. So, you only need money to pay for your drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages) and snacks while strolling on the trail. You will get the significant number of smaller shops on the trail to buy the drinks and snacks. Likewise, you can also use the money to buy souvenirs of the trip, entrance tickets, hot showers, tips and many more. Note that, tips and gratuities are not mandatory, but it is fine if you wish to. If you feel like the service provided to you is excellent, then you can tip directly to staffs. Of course, there is no obligation to tip if you are disappointed with the service you receive. As a suggestion, we advise you to allocate an amount of 10% - 15% of the total package price for tips. The amount you give depends on your budget and appreciation of their work.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is necessary for this trek. But in some cases, the thrilling experience comes up with the serious hazard. The most exciting, and the joyful trip may backfire on us and we may have to be the victim of nature. Not only that while trekking in the high altitude rough terrains may also occur afflictions like the sprained ankle or even broken leg, appendix ruptures, hypothermia, skin infection and respiratory infection. If any of this misfortune happens to you, then it should be treated on time. If left untreated then you may even lose your life. If any of the above-mentioned affliction happens during your trip, we will do everything to transfer you to the nearest hospital ASAP. All the expenses made to rescue and evacuate you, are entirely liable to us. So, before departing off to your trip, make sure that your travel insurance company has the policy to cover up all the expenses in case of any misfortune arises during the trip so that you can enjoy the trip to the utmost. If not, be ready to pay on your own once you arrive at the Kathmandu.
