Detail Itinerary of Annapurna Base Camp Trek 16 days

Day 01: Arrive to Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu at any time. We will welcome you and explain the program further. There are no planned activities for the day, so check into the hotel. Enjoy overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Tour

Breakfast and Kathmandu Tour to Pashupati, Boudha, Monkey Temple and Kathmandu durbar square.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (850, 200 km/6 hours drive)

Take an early morning flight or drive to Pokhara,the beautiful lake city and catch a great views of Himalayas. Free afternoon walk on lakeside and enjoy overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1800m, 4hrs)

Breakfast and drive to Nayapul, trek to Tikhedhunga for 5 hours.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (6 hrs / 2,800 m)

Breakfast and trek for 6 hours to Ghorepani through rhododendron forest.

Day 06: Hike to Pun Hill (50 mints / 3,200 m) | Trek to Tadapani

Early morning hike to Poon Hill, enjoy the Sunrise view and the panorama of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Walk down to Ghorepani, breakfast and trek to Tadapani.

Breakfast and trek for 6 hours to Chhomrong.

After a beautiful sunrise view over the Annapurna’s, we will head down slowly to Bamboo. First part of the trail might be steep and slippery. Bamboo is a clean settlement before climbing to Sinuwa.

Day 12: Trek back to Jhinu Danda (5 hrs / 1,600 m)| Bathe in natural hot spring

Follow the same trail that took to climb up till Chhomrong. Climb down steely on the stone steeps to the village of Jhinu. Settle into lodge and then head down half an hour to natural hot spring pool in the Shore of Modi River. Enjoy the natural hot spring and enjoy your last night in the mountain.

Day 13: Jhinu to Tokha(1900m, 6 hours)

Breakfast and trek following the Modi River coast to Landruk, lunch and continue trek to Tolkha. Stay night in Tokha.

Day 14: Tolkha to Pokhara(850m, 7 hours)

Breakfast and trek to Kande via Australian Camp for 5 hours and drive back to Pokhara. Stay night at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1300m, 7 hours)

Breakfast and get tourist bus drive back to Kathmandu. Stay night at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Kathmandu airport

Final transfer to Kathmandu airport, get flight back to home.

Difficulty of Annapurna Base Camp Trek

ABC is a quite easy trek compare to Everest Base Camp. So, all trekking enthusiasts are invited to trek Annapurna base camp once in a life. The trail ascends and descends frequently with some Nepali flat. There is a less chance of altitude sickness. It needs to walk 6 to 7 hours, covering 12 km to 15 km in a day. An excellent fitness level and sound health is required to succeed the trek.

ABC Trek is possible throughout the year, but autumn and spring are the best season due to clear and stable weather. Winter and summer time does not recommend for trekking ABC, yet can trek to avoid a crowd of trekkers. Winter is cold and summer is rainy, leeches and mountains under the clouds.

Accommodation on Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara will be 3-star hotel on BB basis. During the trek, we will stay at lodges/ teahouses. You may find comfort and better quality teahouses – having attached bathroom at lower elevation and the higher you trek up, the accommodation is more basic with bare necessities.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek: Meals

In the cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara, only the bed and breakfast are included whereas all meals- breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided in the trek. A staple in the trek are potatoes, oats, buckwheat, Sherpa stew and Tibetan bread. The limited choice of food the higher you go. Potatoes are high in carbohydrates – an excellent source of energy supply at high altitudes.

ABC Travel/Transportation

The private car with driver for sightseeing, airport pick and drop off. We use public transportation and local buses in the trek.

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking-Preparation

This is a challenging trek where you have to walk 6-7 hours a day. No past experience of hiking and trekking required. A good physical fitness is helpful. The people from all walks of life, shapes, and sizes can be join this Annapurna small group trek. Be careful with altitude sickness and it is good if you prepare yourself physically by increasing your stamina and oxygen intake.

Electricity and Communication

Electricity are available almost all the places in the route, generated by small hydro power and solar energy. Telephone and WIFI are available at tea house lodge, but it costs an extra price-NPR 300 to NPR 500 for WIFI. In some places, tea lodge may charge an extra cost for charging devices-Camera and mobile batteries.

Temperature

Annapurna Base Camp Trek temperature is around 22 degrees in summer to low as – 5 degrees in winter during the day, and also the temperature at night ranging from -15 degree in the summer and to -20 degree in the winter with patches of hard snow at higher altitudes.  The temperature is warmer in autumn, and no any snow on the trek. Spring is moisture, autumn is dry and crisp.

Documents for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Entry Permit and Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card fee are necessary for trekking Annapurna Base Camp Trek that costs in total US $50. The permit we will apply and issue on behalf of the clients. For the permit, we require your scan passport copy and passport photos.

Last-Minute Booking

The last minute booking is also possible for this trip, a day before trek departures by paying 100% trip cost is possible. We accept last minute booking only for certain Nepal trip and will not accept last minute booking for Tibet and Bhutan tour.
