Autumn-September to December and Spring-March to May, the best time of year is to trek 12 days to Annapurna base camp. Because the weather is fine and the temperature is nice and warm. The Autumn is more clear with blue sky. Spring is hazy. Winter-December to February is also good to avoid traffic of trekkers but it is colder, snowfall and risk of avalanches. Rainy season is not good as the mountains are covered by clouds, rain, landslides and leeches may disturb the trek.

Through different trekking routes, you can go to Annapurna base camp. The 12 days ABC trek route via Poon Hill is the best trek itinerary. Pokhara is the beginning and ending point of the trek.
Accommodation on 12 days Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Mostly, basic neat and clean teahouse lodge accommodation are available in 12 days ABC Trek.The room with twin beds to 4-6 beds, partition by plywood or stone wall. The wooden bed has bed sheets, blankets, mattresses and pillows. The common toilet and bathroom outside the room. Single room is available except Bamboo, Dovan, Deurali, MBC, Himalaya and ABC.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek 12 days-Meals
You will get three time meals-the breakfast, lunch and dinner on the trek. Any of these items-Tibetan Breads, Chapati with Cheese (dry bread- a local wheat bread), Oatmeal, French toast with jam, honey, and peanut butter, Corn Flakes, Hashed brown, fried, Scrambles, and boiled eggs, pancakes, porridge with milk and Muesli for breakfast.
Thukpa (noodle soup), Dal Bhat (Nepalese local meal), Momos ( dumplings), Tibetan / chapati bread, Macaroni, Spaghetti, Sherpa Stew, a variety of soups, steaks, potatoes items, Sandwiches, Pizza, rice with curry, spring rolls, burgers and Pizza and Yak steak for lunch.
The Momos (dumplings), Thukpa (noodle soup), Dal Bhat (Nepalese local meal), Tibetan / chapati bread, Macaroni, Spaghetti, Sherpa Stew, a variety of soups, steaks, potatoes items, Sandwiches, Pizza, rice with curry, spring rolls, Raman soups, burgers and Pizza and Yak steak for dinner.
Desert and drinks like Rice Pudding, Apple pie, fruits snicker/ mars bar, popcorn, cake, pastries, tea, coffee, hot lemon, ginger lemon honey and hot water are available paying an extra cost.
Hot Drinks Option–Hot drinks like black/milk coffees, black/mint/ginger/Green/ lemon honey teas, hot chocolates, hot mango juice, hot oranges juice, hot pineapple juice.
Plenty of non-veg items are available in the menus, but the meats are not recommended because the meat in the mountain is not sanitary and healthy. So, please avoid taking meat, Alcoholic drinks, and smoking as you are in the trekking.
Permits for 12 days Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp
The two permits-Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) and TIMS card are required for 12 days Annapurna Base Camp Trek. That costs USD 50 for a person. Issuing trekking permit, your scan passport copy and passport size Photographs are required.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek-Difficulty Level
Annapurna Base Camp Trek 12 days: moderate difficulty trek. ABC is the highest point of the trek at an elevation of 4190m. It needs to walk 5 to 7 hours a day on uphill and down hill mountain terrain. No previous hiking experience is necessary to join this trek. Hence, you have to physically fit and mentally prepared since trekking in the mountain is not an easy job.
Last-Minute Booking
The Last minute booking a day before the trek departure dates are acceptable. The 100% trip payment should be made if you book this trip via email and WhatsApp message. Last minute booking is not acceptable for Bhutan and Tibet tour.
Travel insurance for ABC Trekking Nepal
Travel insurance is compulsory for 10 days Annapurna base camp trek. It makes you feel safe from theft, natural disasters and medical emergencies. Please make sure that your travel insurance covers helicopter rescue and other medication in case of emergency.
12 day Annapurna Base Camp Trek-Age Limit
No age limit for 12 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek. You have to be mental prepared and physical fit for the trek. We also happy to customize itinerary as well as accommodation and transportation for private group trek as per your interest and request.
The minimum age for this trek is 12 years old accompanied by a guardian over 21 years old. If you are 18 and above age, you can independently join on our ABC group trek.
Electricity in Annapurna base camp trek.
You can charge batteries en route. For this, you need to bring your charger. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay an additional cost for it.
Money Matter
ATM machines are available only in Kathmandu and Pokhara to cash out Nepalese rupees. Hence, carry enough cash in Nepalese rupees for trekking in the mountains.
Internet-WiFi
Annapurna base camp trek 10 days offers good internet access in most of the places now. For this, you have to pay an additional cost for USD 5 per head.
Tips for 12 days Annapurna Base Camp Trip
It is nice to give tips for guide and porter at the end of the trip as the thanks token taking you to the Himalayas and safely return to the city. The 15 to 20 percent of total trip cost, advisable to give tips to guide and porter.

Safety and Security
We strongly recommend the use of a neck wallet or money belt while travelling, for the safe keeping of your passport, air tickets, cash and other valuable items. Leave your valuable jewelry at home – you won’t need it while travelling. Many of the hotels have safety deposit boxes, which is the most secure way of storing your valuables. A lock is recommended for securing your luggage.
You will have free time to pursue your own interests, relax and take it easy or explore at your leisure.The cities are generally safe in the day and risk at night. It is nice to stay in small groups and take taxi to and from restaurants at night excursions.
Drugs and Smoke
Illegal drugs are not allowed on any trips. Smoking marijuana and opium is not acceptable for our travellers, also illegal in Nepal. We have right to expel any member of the group if drugs are found in their possession and if they use prostitutes
Laundry
Laundry facilities are offered by some of tea house and hotel for a charge. There will be times when you may want to or have to do your own laundry so we suggest you bring non-polluting/biodegradable soap.
Passports
A minimum of 6 months validity you have to carry while you are travelling in Nepal. We recommend taking copy of the main passport pages and other important documents with you as well as leave copies at home with family or friends.
Nepal Visas
All foreign nationals require visa to enter Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad and upon arrival at Kathmandu-TIA airport. You may is a long queues to obtain Nepal visa at TIA. For the multiple entry visa fee that valid for 15 days costs US $30, 30 days – US $50 and 90 days costs US $125.
